Location: Located on the desirable West side of Salt Spring Island about half way between the North and South positions Narrows West perfectly for natural light, sun, sunsets, access, amenities, lifestyle and of course the waterfront. Whoever said “the 3 most important things in buying property are location, location, location” was only half right, as recent valuations indicate that “waterfront” should be added to the words location. The waterfront location of Narrows West definitely differentiates it from others.

Close To Town:  Narrows West is approximately 4 miles from the town of Ganges offering shopping, home and personal services, galleries, restaurants, arts and crafts, schools, hospital, medical and health services, fire and rescue, parks and recreation, banking and more. Ganges is widely known for its boating harbour, the Saturday Market, Artcraft, Festivals, and its artisans and “locals”.

Privacy: The Lots of NW were designed to feature the waterfront, nature, sea views, recreation, relaxation and privacy. Narrows West, being at the end of the road, is situated in a peaceful setting with low traffic yet with a community feeling. This is the quiet side of the Island.

Large Lots:  Each of the Lots is 3 acres or more, well planned and uncompromised, resulting in Narrows West being a premier address to make your place on the Island. A single family residence, guest cottage, studio and other accessory buildings are permitted.

The Owners of the Strata Lots also share a 1/10th ownership in about 60 acres of Common Property comprised of a private park-like nature preserve and recreational lands. The use of the existing buildings and planned amenities of the Common Property are included with each Strata Lot. A 10 boat private moorage dock lease for the Strata Lot Owners has been approved for the Strata Common Property oceanfront.

Lot 31 is 168 acres with 153 acres dedicated to your own private park-like nature preserve and 15 buildable acres. Imagine your own private park at your home.

Waterfront Living: The sea is an integral part of Salt Spring life. The waterfront Lots of Narrows West sit at the ocean’s edge. The Strata Lots have 1 waterfront Lot at the ocean’s edge and 9 Lots with expansive ocean views. The Owners of the Strata Lots own the Common Property which includes private access to the waterfront, a planned private dock and swim float, and other buildings and amenities. Once you have lived on the ocean, it keeps calling you back. You won’t have to go far as the Pacific is steps away.

Sun and Natural Light: Theses features are often overlooked but rank near the top for life style home sites. Positioned well and mostly West facing, the Lots of Narrows West take advantage of the sunshine, natural light and exceptional sunsets. An actual photo of one of the sunsets would appear to have been altered by artistic licence. The views are bright, colourful and never tiring.

Nature: Much of the area nearby Narrows West is environmentally significant with the flora and fauna of many lands under conservation protection. See the big rocks – 50 times bigger than you just imagined. Enjoy living near the forests, groves, woodlands and parks treed with coastal fir, arbutus and Garry oak. The trees of Narrows West have been sensitively pruned by hand with a trained specialist. Detail has its rewards.

Lot Services: The Lots of Narrows West have the planned or available services of a Lot access, drilled well, electrical power and communications & septic field. Internet and cell phone is available and has good reception on this part of the Island.

Building Scheme: The Lots of Narrows West are sensibly restricted in design, setting, setbacks and use for the benefit of all of the Lot Owners. This approach is intended to maintain the ambiance associated with a first class development by ensuring a high level of quality, privacy while recognizing the waterfront and viewscapes as a top priority. A residential dwelling, guest cottage, studio and outbuildings are permitted in the plan.

Swimming & Water Sports: Ocean swimming, rare in these local waters, is at the Lot or Common Property ocean’s edge. Kayaking, canoeing and other water sports are also popular at Narrows West.

Boating: Situated at Stuart Channel, near the boating waters of Sansum Narrows and Erskine Point with Vancouver Island and several other Gulf Islands just minutes away, Narrows West is ideal for boating enthusiasts. A number of marinas are within easy distance as are the quaint seaside coastal towns, restaurants, harbours and islands to explore. These waters are great for sailing, motor boating and water skiing. BC’s Maple Bay and Cowichan Bay marinas are closeby or venture further to the USA San Juan Islands. Apply to build your dock, boat lift, or mooring buoy.

Scuba Diving: For the scuba enthusiast, the waters of and around Narrows West are highly rated.

Fishing: Ocean fishing waters with salmon, cod, crab, and prawns are nearby Narrows West. Enjoy digging the tidal flats for clams or picking yummy west coast mussels and oysters.

Sea Life: Watch the seals, otters, small marine creatures and orca whales play at Narrows West. Explore the treasures of the Pacific Ocean by lifting the rocks in the tidal pools, or gunk holing the day away.

Wildlife: Watch the bald eagles soar by and the deer in their natural habitat. Live with shore birds, ducks, quail and other wildlife shaping your day. Blue heron kingfishers and sea lions also visit Narrows West. Be prepared, as you will be asked to volunteer for the annual National Bird Count.

Hiking: The very popular Mt. Erskine hiking trails are adjacent to Narrows West  with many other great hiking trails nearby. A good area for walking, running and biking exercise too.
